SEA has invited top educationists and business consultants to its Board of International Advisors which includes:

Prof S Gopinathan

 

Former Dean of NIE and Professor at the Office of Education Research at Singapore’s National Institute of Education. Beyond teacher education, he has also served on various Ministry of Education review committees in policy development, as a Resource Specialist for the Government Parliamentary Committee on Education as well as a consultant for the Singapore Teachers Union and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board.

Professor Philip John

 

Dean of Science and Engineering at the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He is also the Chairperson of the SCHOLAR Forum which is a national e-learning initiative which has sold innovative web-based courseware to all the education authorities in Scotland.

Mr. Alok Sharma

 

Alok Sharma has worked for 25 years in the technology sector and entrepreneurship. He became an entrepreneur in 2009 to build companies with focus on technology, innovation and environment. He is currently the CEO of Nature Ecoventures, an incubation and project development company that focuses across industry sectors. Prior to 2009, he served as the Managing Director for Apple India for 5 years wherein he grew the business 10X in that period. Earlier, he was part of the management team which built Sun Microsystems India and was later the Director, partner Development (South Asia ) based out of Singapore.

Dr N Varaprasad

 

Former Chief Executive of National Library Board since 2004. He has made many significant contributions to public service and the educational field in Singapore, and was awarded the Public Administration Award (Gold) in 1996. He was the former Deputy VC of NUS and the founding Principal of Temasek Polytechnic.

Mr Martyn Ian Roads

 

Director of MR Educational Consultants Ltd and eAssessment Tomorrow Ltd, and Chairman of the BECTA eAssessment Advisory Group. He has supported the management of various annual e-assessment conferences in the UK and overseas, and served as advisor to awarding bodies on the development of e-assessment strategies and the QCA NI’s DEL project on widening the use of e-assessment in Northern Ireland.

Mr Koh Boon Long

 

An experienced educationist of 48 years’ service and has also taught various leadership, educational and teacher-training modules as an adjunct teaching fellow at NIE, Nanyang Technological University since 1998.  Mr Koh served as a School’s Head of Department, Junior College Vice-Principal, Secondary School Principal, and as Deputy Director (National Education & School Planning) at the MOE HQ.

Mr Koh holds a M. Ed degree from NTU. His first degree is BA (NUS).
